Norwescap’s Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) program provides supplemental nutritious foods to pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants and children up to the age of five. Fathers may also bring their children to apply and learn more about WIC services.

What we do:

• Health Screenings
• Nutrition Education
• Breastfeeding Support
• Lactation Consultation Services
• Referrals to health and social services

Participation in WIC has been shown to reduce low birth weight and infant mortality, increase prenatal care, and improve children’s health and academic performance.

WHO CAN APPLY: ELIGIBILITY

• Pregnant women
• Breastfeeding women
• Women who have had a baby in the last 6 months
• Children up to age 5
• People who meet income guidelines
• New Jersey residents
• People who are at “nutritional risk”

All Norwescap WIC services are free to those who qualify. An applicant’s gross income must be at or less than 185% of the U.S. poverty income guidelines. WIC services in New Jersey serve all who qualify regardless of immigration status. WIC is funded by the USDA, an equal opportunity employer.

If you are a resident of Somerset, Warren, Hunterdon, or Sussex counties, after starting the application process through the portal, you will receive a phone call or text from a member of the Norwescap WIC Team to schedule an appointment.

We are currently processing applicants virtually. If you prefer to process your application in person, we are happy to meet with you. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
