NJ 211

NJ 211 provides free, live assistance24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year for people who are struggling. Specialists have access to a resource database of over 7,600 community programs and services that assist people with needs such as food, utilities, affordable housing, rental assistance, mental and physical health, substance use disorders, childcare, senior needs, legal assistance, transportation, disability services and so much more.  NJ 211 also serves as the state’s homeless hotline, and is available to people experiencing homelessness who need immediate assistance. Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen offers a wide array of services for people who are struggling financially. Programs include food pantries; shelter and permanent housing; financial empowerment services; child care; counseling for people struggling with addiction; immigration services; and more. Center for Family Services (former Family Guidance)

Center for Family Services offers a strong and innovative continuum of care with multiple services to support a broad range of needs. Programs include addiction and recovery support, counseling and behavioral health, early childhood education, safe and supportive housing, workforce development, and more. Central Jersey Housing Resource Center

Central Jersey Housing Resource Center is a HUD-certified Housing Counseling agency that provides clients with no-cost information, education, and supports to overcome housing obstacles. The Center provides housing counseling programs (in-person and virtually) and uses their resource network to help find affordable housing for families, individuals, senior citizens and those with special needs. Community Options, Inc.

Community Options supports individuals with developmental disabilities and intellectual disabilities through training, supported employment, case management, therapeutic services, and more. Easterseals New Jersey

Easterseals helps children and adults with disabilities and special needs live better lives through a broad array of programs. Operating in 21 counties throughout the state, Easterseals New Jersey offers a variety of disability services to help people with various special needs address life’s challenges, including residential programs, adult learning programs, vocational training, case management, and recreational activities. Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board

The Greater Raritan Workforce Development Board offers an array of programs for job seekers in Somerset and Hunterdon counties. Resources include guided job search and tools to help job seekers connect to the opportunities that are right for them; SkillUp Greater Raritan, a free online learning portal; tools for resume building; and more. Higher Education Student Assistance Authority

The Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) is a New Jersey state agency dedicated to providing students and families with financial and informational resources for students to pursue their education beyond high school. The organization provides access to and guidance on scholarship, loan and grant programs, as well as other supports to help students succeed in higher education. Jewish Family Service of MetroWest New Jersey

Jewish Family Service of MetroWest New Jersey offers multiple programs to support people of all backgrounds with various challenges. Specific services include outpatient counseling for mental health and addiction; financial counseling and supports; services for people with special needs; programs for people experiencing domestic violence; and services for older adults and caregivers. Mental Health Association

The Mental Health Association works to improve the care and treatment of individuals with mental illness, and to remove the stigma associated with emotional and mental disorders. Services include early intervention and treatment, as well as multiple programs centered around advocacy, education, and prevention. Morris/Sussex/Warren Employment & Training Services

Morris/Sussex/Warren Employment and Training Services (ETS), a Division of the Morris County Department of Human Services, supports youth (ages 16-24) and adult job seekers in Morris, Sussex and Warren counties, by providing unemployed and underemployed workers with information, advice, job search assistance, supportive services and training within in-demand industries needed to find and retain employment. NJ SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)

New Jersey’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, NJ SNAP, provides food assistance to families with low incomes to help purchase groceries through a benefits card accepted in most food retail stores and some farmers markets. Eligibility is set by several factors, such as income and resources. You can use SNAP benefits to stretch your food budget and buy nutritious foods that can keep you and your family healthy. Zufall Health

Zufall Health provides access to quality, affordable and culturally competent healthcare to people and communities who experience barriers to care. Their various locations provide access to adult and child health services, dental care, mental health services, and more. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Zufall Health accepts insurance but also offers services on a sliding scale based on income and family size; nobody is turned away due to inability to pay. New Jersey Human Services – New Jersey Resource Guide

This resource guide, provided by The New Jersey Department of Human Services (NJ DHS), serves as a general information package. Hunterdon

Family Promise of Hunterdon County

Family Promise of Hunterdon County serves as the only homeless shelter in the county for children and their families. In addition to helping families with safe shelter, the organization offers case management and homelessness prevention services, mental health supports, and more. Fisherman’s Mark

Fisherman’s Mark, provides services to meet basic needs – including a free market located at 262 North Main Street in Lambertville, NJ, which offers a selection of health foods, toiletries, household supplies, baby needs, and more – as well as case management, and connections/referrals for services such as child care, healthcare, transportation, and more. High Point

Hunterdon Helpline

The Hunterdon Helpline assists people in Hunterdon County who are experiencing homelessness through connections to shelters and other resources, via their First Assist program. They also offer a variety of support programs including ongoing case management, translation services, and referrals for seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and more. SAFE in Hunterdon

SAFE in Hunterdon provides support and advocacy for Hunterdon County residents who are survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Services include emergency shelter for people in imminent danger; a 24/7 helpline; individual and group counseling; case management, legal advocacy, and more. Morris

Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson runs the Community Emergency Support (CES) program in Morris County, which assists families with preventing potential homelessness or transitioning from a state of homelessness. The program provides short term financial assistance for individuals and families at imminent risk of homeless with limited or no other resources available; linkage to basic essential services like food and clothing from our Hope House Choice Pantry. The HPRP II program can provide three months of back rent or a security deposit and first month’s rent towards a new apartment. Cornerstone Family Programs & Morristown Neighborhood House

Cornerstone Family Programs and Morristown Neighborhood House provide resources to people of all ages in Morris County. Programs include child care and teen development; adult education, skill-building courses, and financial literacy; and supports for veterans, seniors, and caregivers. Family Promise of Morris County

Family Promise of Morris County provides services that help prevent families and individuals from becoming homeless; shelter and case management for those experiencing homelessness; and stabilization programs for people who have secured housing to help them remain stable and independent. Homeless Solutions

The largest provider of homelessness and housing-related services in Morris County, Homeless Solutions supports individuals and families experiencing homelessness through a variety of programs. The organization offers emergency overnight shelter; short-term sheltering; transitional housing; permanent housing with support services; and specialized housing programs for seniors and individuals with a mental health diagnosis. Housing Authority of the County of Morris

The Housing Authority of the County of Morris develops and manages housing for low- and moderate-income residents of the County, including senior citizens, families, and people with disabilities. Housing Partnership of Morris County

The Housing Partnership offers workshops, resources, and one-on-one counseling to support homebuyers, including first-time homebuyers, in their journey to homeownership. The Affordable Homes program helps individuals and families who are facing financial challenges the opportunity to purchase deed-restricted homes throughout Morris County. Interfaith Food Pantry Network

The Interfaith Food Pantry Network supports Morris County residents in need of food through various programs, including nutrition education, distribution events, and partnerships with local pantries and providers. Interfaith Furnishings

Interfaith Furnishings in Randolph, NJ is a nonprofit volunteer organization that accepts donated furniture and distributes it to the people in need throughout Morris County. Child & Family Resources (CFR) is Morris County’s local Child Care Resource and Referral agency. The Morris County Organization For Hispanic Affairs works throughout the Morris County Area to ensure everyone has access to key community resources. Jersey Battered Women’s Service (JBWS)

JBWS is a private, nonprofit agency that provides safety, support and solutions for abuse for anyone who lives or works in primarily Morris County, NJ and faces the issues of intimate partner abuse. JBWS’ mission is the prevention of domestic violence through the protection and empowerment of the victim, the rehabilitation of family members, the advocacy for social reform to prevent partner violence, and the education of the public about domestic violence and its consequences. Community Childcare Solutions is Somerset County’s local Child Care Resource and Referral agency. The organization provides a variety of services to support families as well as child care providers, including child care referral and other parenting supports, child care provider trainings and technical supports, as well as other efforts to increase the quality and availability of child care. Family and Community Services of Somerset County

The Giving Network

The Giving Network is an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to recycling items. They accept donated household goods and ensure they reach individuals and families in Somerset County who are in need of support. Somerset Community Action Program (SCAP)

The Somerset Community Action Program, one of Norwescap’s “sister” agencies, provides a variety of programs designed to support Somerset County residents facing financial challenges to work towards self-sufficiency. Family Promise of Sussex County

Family Promise of Sussex County supports people facing homelessness and housing insecurity through a number of programs. Services include homelessness prevention and shelter diversion, utility assistance, housing navigation, supports for people exiting the shelter system; supports are also available for people who are currently homeless, including case management, education and employment counseling, and access to laundry and showers. First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church’s food pantry, located at 2 Liberty Street in Newton, NJ, offers food for families facing financial hardships, as well as gently used clothing for men, women and children. The Samaritan Inn in Newton, NJ provides 24/7 support for people in need of emergency housing placement. Warren

Catholic Charities Thrift Store

The Catholic Charities Thrift Store, located at 383 South Main Street in Phillipsburg, sells gently used clothing (including professional clothing), shoes, accessories, household furnishings, small appliances, jewelry, books, toys, and collectibles at a fair and reasonable price. The discounted goods help low-income households stretch their budgets. A clothing assistance voucher is available to persons with special needs or with difficult situations and without resources to pay even a considerably reduced amount. Domestic Abuse and Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County (DASACC)

DASACC provides support and advocacy for people in Warren County who are impacted by interpersonal violence. Services include emergency shelter for people in imminent danger (pets are welcome); a 24/7 helpline and web chat; individual and group counseling; case management, legal advocacy, and more. Family Promise of Warren County

Family Promise’s Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP) is a grant program administered by Family Promise, to provide temporary assistance to households being evicted due to a short-term loss of income. Applications must be completed by in-person appointment only at the office in Oxford. Warren County Social Services

Warren County Social Services provides a wide array of services, including emergency funds and prevention services to eligible households who are homeless or in imminent danger of becoming homeless.
