Norwescap Health Connections (formally known as Norwescap CEED) provides breast, cervical, prostate and colorectal cancer outreach, education and screening services to eligible people who are of low income, uninsured or underinsured. Our program can also offer screenings without regard to immigration status, however, applicants must meet eligibility guidelines. A large portion of our funding is through The Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED) Program.
Services for women:
- Cervical Cancer screenings which may include a pap smear and pelvic exam
- Breast Cancer screenings which may include: a clinical breast exam, mammogram, and instructions on breast self-examination
- Colorectal Cancer screenings which may include: fecal occult blood test (FIT), colonoscopy, and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Education regarding risk factors and the importance of Early Detection
Services for men:
- Prostate Cancer screenings which may include: a digital rectal exam and prostate-specific antigen test (PSA)
- Colorectal Cancer screenings which may include: fecal occult blood test (FOBT), colonoscopy, and/or flexible sigmoidoscopy
- Breast Cancer screenings (for men at high-risk for breast cancer)
Eligibility guidelines include:
- Warren County New Jersey Residents. (Exceptions may apply.)
- Women age 18 years and older
- Men aged 50 years and older
- High-risk populations and anyone with a personal or family history may begin screening at a younger age
- Must be uninsured or underinsured
Income Requirements:
- Must be within 250% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).
