Access Vital Nutrition Services and Healthcare Resources
Nutritious food and access to healthcare, especially preventative care, are among every person’s most basic needs. However, in many households, people struggle to put healthy food on the table or get to the doctor’s office for essential medical tests, screenings, and vaccines.
Through our nutrition services, Norwescap works to ensure that every individual and family in our region has access to adequate, healthy food and nutrition education through our Food Bank and its partner network, as well as our SNAP and WIC benefits assistance programs.
Every year, the Norwescap Food Bank distributes approximately 1.7 million meals through a network of more than 100 food pantries, soup kitchens, on-site feeding programs, childcare centers, senior centers, and programs for the disabled in Warren, Hunterdon, and Sussex counties. That translates to our programs providing healthy meals to 5,000 families monthly!
We also support health and well-being by connecting people to medical screenings, vaccines, and other healthcare needs and provide healthcare resources, education, and programming to support healthy lifestyles for people of all ages.
For local community members, Norwescap provides healthcare access and resources to a variety of services, including:
