Celebrating AmeriCorps Week with Norwescap

Let’s celebrate AmeriCorps Week together by acknowledging the incredible impact our AmeriCorps members make every day!

This week, from March 11 to 15, is all about celebrating the remarkable contributions of AmeriCorps members, and here at Norwescap, we couldn’t be more thrilled to honor our dedicated team of AmeriCorps members who play a pivotal role in building capacity and impacting the community. Their commitment to service is truly inspiring, and we’re grateful for their efforts in creating opportunities that change lives. Their unwavering dedication to service inspires us daily, and during AmeriCorps Week, we want to shine a spotlight on their remarkable contributions.

Three decades ago, a pioneering group of over 20,000 Americans raised their right hands, pledging to dedicate themselves to the service of their nation through AmeriCorps. Today, we celebrate the remarkable impact of over 1.25 million Americans and countless AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers who have committed to improving communities across the nation.

AmeriCorps holds profound importance for Norwescap, serving as the support of our organization’s mission to make a meaningful difference in the community. The dedication and service of AmeriCorps members infuse Norwescap with invaluable energy and expertise, enriching our programs and expanding our reach. These committed individuals contribute their time, skills, and passion to critical areas such as financial empowerment, community engagement, and capacity-building initiatives. AmeriCorps members play a pivotal role in amplifying Norwescap’s impact, tackling key challenges, and fostering positive change within the communities we serve. Their service not only enhances our ability to address pressing issues but also creates a ripple effect, inspiring others to join in our shared commitment to building a more resilient, empowered, and compassionate society. In essence, AmeriCorps is integral to Norwescap’s success, fortifying our foundation of service and propelling us toward a future where opportunities flourish, and lives are transformed.

At Norwescap, Americorps service members can participate part-time or full-time. These individuals dedicate one year to specific projects, receiving a stipend for living expenses and an award upon completing their service hours.

AmeriCorps members enjoy a range of benefits, including a living allowance and an education award that can be used for college or trade school expenses, or to repay qualified student loans. During their service, members may also benefit from loan deferment and interest forbearance on qualified student loans. Professional development opportunities, an alumni network, and more are part of the package.

For those with children under the age of 13, a childcare benefit is available. Some programs even provide health care benefits or a stipend to purchase healthcare.

In the spirit of AmeriCorps Week, Norwescap opens its doors and extends a warm invitation to individuals seeking to make a difference. Whether you are drawn to the traditional AmeriCorps program, eager to contribute strategic solutions through AmeriCorps VISTA, or looking to share your experience and skills through AmeriCorps Seniors programs, Norwescap provides the platform to turn your desire for service into a reality.

Join us in this noble endeavor to leave a positive, lasting impact on the lives of others. Your invitation to service awaits—seize the opportunity to be a catalyst for change and make a difference that echoes through generations.
