35 HOURS PER WEEK, FULL YEAR
Job Overview
We are fast-paced and high-demand, non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population. Cross-training is available and expected for all positions.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy work environment for children 18 months to 36 months
- Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment for the classroom
- Assist in the maintenance of recordkeeping and reporting systems to ensure accurate information, with timely completion and follow-up
- As needed, provide education services to children and families using virtual learning platforms as noted in Norwescap Head Start virtual learning policies and procedures
Qualifications
Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma/GED and working towards a CDA
Preferred Education Level
CDA, Associates, or higher, in early childhood education, social work, or related field
Experience
Some experience preferred, Head Start experience preferred
Preferred Experience
2+ years of direct experience with children birth to 5 and their families
1+ year of Head Start experience
Personal characteristics: Self-motivated, compassionate, flexible, dependable, enthusiastic, inclusive
Certifications: CDA (to be completed within two years) or equivalent, driver’s license
Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.55 – $19.65 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
