Beauty Editors Forego Luxury Products To Donate To Families Through NJ Nonprofit

Norwescap receives over 750 highly-rated skin-care products to gift to parents this holiday

PHILLIPSBURG, NJ-  December 22, 2020– Throughout the Northwest region of New Jersey, local children and families have been adopted through Norwescap’s Traditions Family Success Center with the hope of receiving a little bit of holiday joy. The program, “Partners in Joy,” collects toy donations from individual and corporate donors for nearly 800 local children. This year the Center distributed more gifts than ever to brighten children’s holidays – and a wonderful gift also found its way into the hands of their unsuspecting parents and guardians.

Internationally recognized skin-care company Mario Badescu teamed up with beauty editors across the nation who chose to forgo their samples, and instead donate them to a charity of the company’s choosing. Mario Badescu chose Norwescap, a non-profit organization serving nearly 30,000 low-income individuals and families throughout Morris, Somerset, Hunterdon, Sussex and Warren Counties with vital and life-sustaining services. “As the holiday season approached, the team at Mario Badescu saw an opportunity to spread joy, which is needed now more than ever,” said Joseph Cabasso, Vice President at Mario Badescu Skin Care. “We reached out to beauty editors across the country and offered them the option of donating the sample products they would normally receive to people in need, and hundreds of them chose to give back.”

Thanks to the generosity of Mario Badescu and the beauty editors, the company donated over 750 luxury products to Norwescap’s Partners in Joy Program. The donation included their highest-rated cleansing face wash, revitalizing facial spray, and moisturizing hand cream.

“At a time when parents are inundated with the stress of juggling work, virtual learning, and life during quarantine, self-care is often put on the back burner,” said Marybeth Ringo, Director of Norwescap’s Tradition Family Success Center. “Most don’t have the means to buy gifts for their kids, let alone anything special for themselves. Many of the items on the parents’ wish lists were winter coats, shoes, diapers, and perhaps a modest toy for their children. Not a single parent expected anything for themselves. Parents are exhausted. That is what makes this gift from Mario Badescu and beauty editors all the more special. This incredible gift offers parents an opportunity to pamper themselves right at home and experience a little piece of heaven.”

“Norwescap believes that to build resilient and strong communities, it takes caring people and thoughtful organizations. The decision by Mario Badescu and beauty editors to donate these luxury products at their own expense had a truly heartwarming impact on our parents,” stated Mark Valli, CEO of Norwescap. “The majority of our participants may not have the means to try luxury cosmetics of any kind. The fact that both Mario Badescu and each of these editors found it in their hearts to bless someone else with these gifts is incredible. This illustrates the meaning of being a ‘Partner in Joy,’” he added, “giving when you don’t have to and bringing a smile and pure joy to those who least expect it is both thoughtful and caring. For that, we are very grateful.”
