Buying One Bouquet Of Flowers Can Feed Those Who Are Struggling
Norwescap Food Bank partners with Stop& Shop Bloomin’ 4 Good Program
PHILLIPSBURG, NJ March 2021– For most people, 2020 was a very difficult year, and 2021 has brought its own share of challenges so far. But sometimes it only takes a small gesture to brighten someone’s day, and this is where Stop & Shop comes in. Stop & Shop launched a new program, Bloomin’ 4 Good, in February of 2021 as an easy and beautiful way for Stop & Shop shoppers to give back to those in need.
Shoppers can help give back to those in their community by purchasing any $9.99 Bloomin’ 4 Good Bouquet labeled with a red circle sticker; the sticker indicates that the proceeds from the flowers will be donated to a local hunger organization selected by that store. Norwescap is grateful to be a beneficiary of the Phillipsburg Stop & Shop Bloomin’ 4 Good program during the month of April. For each labeled bouquet purchased at the store, located at 1278 US Highway 22, Phillipsburg NJ 08865, Norwescap’s Food Bank will receive a $1 donation – which translates into 14 pounds of food, or more than 10 meals, for individuals and families in the community who are food insecure.
“Flowers can brighten a room or spread a smile,” said Helene Meissner, Food Bank Program Director of Norwescap. “Now they can fight hunger too. Every bouquet sold will feed 10+ people in need. Whether you’re looking to show your partner some love, treat yourself to a touch of spring, or show a friend, neighbor, or colleague how much you appreciate them, visit the Phillipsburg Stop & Shop and pick up Bloomin’ 4 Good bouquet. The flowers will not only brighten someone’s day – they’ll bring food, help and hope to those who need it most.”
Norwescap is a non-profit based in Phillipsburg, New Jersey founded in 1965, with a mission to strengthen communities by creating opportunities that improve the lives of low-income individuals and families. Norwescap’s Food Bank, serving Hunterdon, Sussex, and Warren Counties, works with over 100 local pantries, shelters, schools, and other partners to distribute over 2 million pounds of food each year.
