Heather Thompson is the Chief Development Officer for Norwescap. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the agency’s development and fundraising strategy, building relationships with philanthropic partners including individual donors, foundations, corporations, and civic and faith organizations to sustain current program operations and support Norwescap’s growth. She also oversees marketing, communications, and public relations for the agency.
Prior to joining Norwescap in September 2020, Heather served as Executive Vice President of Development and External Relations at Eva’s Village in Paterson, NJ. Her 20+ year nonprofit career also includes tenures as Associate Director of Development at Park Avenue Armory and Director of Special Events at Citymeals-on-Wheels in New York, NY. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Michigan and professional certificates in fundraising, nonprofit leadership, and nonprofit finance from NYU and Cornell.
Heather is a graduate of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce’s “Leadership Morris” Class of 2022, and currently serves as Chair of the Chamber’s Nonprofit Committee. She also serves as President of the Board of Trustees for the Public Library in her hometown of Bloomfield, NJ.
