Dr. Edward Ramirez brings a wealth of experience to Norwescap as a seasoned business executive, holding a Doctor of Business Administration and over 35 years of entrepreneurial expertise. As the Chief Program Officer, Dr. Ramirez oversees Norwescap’s dynamic portfolio of programs and services, evaluates their effectiveness, and actively seeks innovative solutions to expand and diversify funding. He plays a crucial role in shaping and executing the agency’s strategic vision and provides mentorship, guidance, supervision, and professional development opportunities to the program staff, ensuring Norwescap’s effectiveness in addressing poverty-related issues. Hand in hand with the CEO and the Board of Directors, Dr. Ramirez spearheads the expansion of effective programs and celebrates the organization’s achievements in uplifting individuals from poverty to opportunity.

Dr. Ramirez has a strong background in business management, administration, and executive-level accounting within both corporate and higher education sectors. Previously, Dr. Ramirez made significant contributions at the Morris County Chamber of Commerce and the Morris County Economic Development Corporation, where he served as the Executive Director of Lead Morris and the Director of Business Resources for the Economic Development Corporation. Among his many accomplishments, he partnered with Morris County Commissioners to distribute CARE Act Grants, each worth $15,000, to support minority and Latino-owned businesses adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in Dover and Morristown, New Jersey. He is also a distinguished military veteran with 12 years of service in the Army.
