Location: Watchung Ave Presbyterian Church, 170 Watchung Ave, N. Plainfield, NJ
This grant funded, 30 hour/week, 52 weeks/year full-time position is responsible for providing case management support and career advice to the clients of the Career & Life Transitions Center for Women (CLTC) at our Somerset office. The PC is knowledgeable of the criteria defining a displaced homemaker, shares goals and objectives of the CLTC for the planning, implementation and administration of all activities that enhance the supportive services, training, employability, job readiness, earnings and self-sufficiency of women who fit the criteria of being a displaced homemaker and are seeking successful entry/re-entry into the workforce. The PC is also responsible for the development and implementation of programs, workshops and job clubs to enhance the services provided by the CLTC.
Number of Positions Available: 1
Weekly Hours: 30hrs Tuesday-Friday
Number of Weeks per Year: 52
Rate of Pay: $20 – $22
Required Level of Education:
Required Number of Month / Year Experience: 5 yrs
Required Degree or Formal Training: • Bi-lingual is preferred • Excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to relate to persons of all socioeconomic groups and diverse cultures • Empathetic and patient • Team player who effectively communicates with other team members • Maintain strict confidentiality • Able to prioritize assignments • Pay attention to detail, accuracy and meet due dates • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher • Proficient using email (folders, messaging) • Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Teams a plus • Flexibility in work hours necessary in order to respond to requirements of program • Knowledgeable of In-Demand occupations in NJ, best practices for resume writing, cover letters and interviewing • Ability to provide Career, Education, Training and Employment advisement • Willingness to learn multiple database systems • Able to use FaceBook, Twitter and other Social Media.
