Job Overview
We are a fast-paced and high-demand, non-profit program that depends on everybody in every position to help our centers function with ease. You will gain diverse experience working with an at-risk population. Cross-training is available and expected for all positions.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for purchasing necessary supplies and food for meal preparation in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
  • Monitor food allergies/dietary conditions of children and prepare food accordingly.
  • Prepare all meals and snacks following all CACFP and Head Start guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary environment according to all guidelines.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and drive the agency vehicle to Phillipsburg site to transport food between centers.

Minimum Education Level
High School Diploma/GED

Preferred Education Level
Associates, or higher, in related field

Experience
Some experience in commercial food preparation preferred

Preferred Experience
2+ years of experience in commercial food preparation

Personal characteristics: Responsible, dependable, committed
Certifications: Food Handler’s Certification or willing to obtain through Norwescap, driver’s license and reliable transportation
Physical abilities: Lift 30 pounds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.46 per hour

Expected hours: 27.5 per week
