Full job description
The Housing Assistant will support the Housing Specialist and other team members in delivering housing services to clients. This role involves assisting with the administrative aspects of housing applications, eligibility screenings, and providing general support to ensure efficient operations.
This is a Provisional Position
:
- Be the first point of contact for incoming clients in need of assistance.
- Screen clients for eligible housing support programs.
- Will need to attend intensive case management inspections at clients’ homes and hotels every week.
- Provide information to clients regarding available housing resources and programs.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments and follow-up meetings for clients.
- Prepare reports and data for internal use and compliance with funding requirements.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in social services, public administration, or a related field preferred.
· Previous experience in administrative support, social services, or a similar role is advantageous.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy.
· Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
· Knowledge of housing programs and resources is a plus.
· Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
