Our community working together to ensure that babies and/or adults that are vulnerable receive a healthy daily change of diapers.
The Sussex County Diaper Bank collects diapers from the community, and we store them at Norwescap and distribute them monthly to needy families in Sussex County through our partner agencies.
Babies, young children and adults in low-income families often suffer from infrequent diaper changes. This often leads to health problems.
Norwescap’s Sussex County Diaper Bank engages everyone in the community to ensure that our most vulnerable citizens receive a healthy daily change of diapers. The Diaper Bank also reflects community collaboration at its best – citizens collecting diapers and non-profit organizations distributing diapers to children and families that are most in need.
The Need is Great
Infants in low-income families often suffer from infrequent diaper changes. Diapers are expensive (as much as $112 per month per baby) and they can’t be purchased with food stamps. This leads to both health problems for the babies. Parents can’t go to work or school if they can’t leave their babies in child care because of requirements to provide diapers. The problems are real!
We Need Your Help
The Sussex County Diaper Bank relies on people like you to not only raise awareness of the problem in our community. You, or your school, church, organization, or company can help supply the needed diapers by hosting a diaper drive or a “Dollars for Diapers” fundraiser. Whether you choose to host a large, small, one-time, annual, or ongoing drive—they will all help us support our communities most vulnerable members.
We Have the Tools and Ideas to Make Your Drive Successful
Our goal is to make it easy for you to host a drive. We can provide brochures, posters, flyers, and even church bulletin inserts. Additionally, we have lots of ideas to share with you to ensure a successful drive.
