Welcome to the Circles Homepage

NORWESCAP launched the Circles ™ Initiative in 2008 as a new approach to ending poverty in Somerset and Sussex Counties.  The Circles ™ Initiative is part of a national effort led by Move the Mountain (www.movethemountain.org) to provide transformational leadership to initiate a campaign across the country.

The three objectives for National The Circles™ Campaign are:  

Assist 1000 families completely out of poverty, Carefully document the steps taken to help them out of poverty and any barriers they encountered(their own internal barriers as well as community and government policy barriers),
Help leaders develop a new social contract draft that outlines what a community, state and nation can and should do to assure hard-working families can thrive.

NORWESCAP is the first partner that is engaged in the Circles ™ Initiative campaign in New Jersey.  We have recently included several new pages to our website in an effort to provide more information and easier access to information regarding this initiative.  Information detailing three main segments of the campaign including:  Guiding Coalition (planning and implementation body), Circle Leaders (main segment of the program-the individual in poverty leading their own efforts to make transformational changes), and the Allies (volunteers committed to providing resources and support to Circle Leaders).
