NORWESCAP is concerned about our neighbors not applying for a program to help pay winter heating bills.  The program, the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to help low-income families, seniors and individuals meet home heating and medically necessary cooling costs. This year, the application period is October 1, 2016 to April 30, 2017. Applications may be received and returned by mail.

To be eligible for LIHEAP benefits, the household must be responsible for home heating or cooling costs and be under the 200% federal poverty level. You can apply for two programs, Low Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) Program, and Universal Service Fund (USF) with one application.  To learn more contact NORWESCAP at (908) 454-4778 or email @

Empowerment For New Beginings

Empowerment For New Beginnings

NORWESCAP’s Career & Life Transitions Center for Women is offering a

confidence building program entitled Empowerment for New Beginnings. 

Created and facilitated by Jeanne Rohach, this inspirational program supports

women who are  experiencing challenging life transitions and serves as a

catalyst for developing the power within to navigate those transitions. This

6-session program includes a job readiness workshop and will be offered at the


Career & Life Transitions Center starting April 5th, 2017 on Wednesdays from

10:00 am to 2:30 pm.  We have just a few seats remaining. For more
